Lustration is inevitable: will you stop painting?

One of the main reasons why the situation in Russia differs from many countries where totalitarian regimes have been successfully dismantled is the lack of lustration, which has not been carried out since the fall of communism.

What is lustration? It is the removal of prominent officials of the fallen regime, including its ruling party and intelligence services, and the publication of lists of those who worked for them as agents and informants. This applies not only to the political sphere, but also to other important spheres of society, which in post-Soviet Russia remain under the control of officials of the former regime and agents of its intelligence services. They have hypocritically changed their political masks, but have retained their essence.

Religion was one of these spheres, especially important in the new conditions, because after decades of its prohibition people turned to God and first of all to those religious figures who began to speak in His name. The problem is that in all major religious niches, corporations of religious officials, whether priests or mullahs, had been formed by that time, trained by the KGB and working for the atheistic communist regime. Moreover, this often applied not only to official mullahs, but also to seemingly informal religious figures who were allowed to operate in the USSR. How is it possible that some were sent to labor camps, psychiatric hospitals, killed, or expelled from the country for their activities, while others were allowed to continue some form of activity? The answer to this question is obvious to any reasonable person.

After the collapse of the previous vertical system of government in the country, all the numerous servants and agents of the regime were left unmonitored for a while, and in these conditions they began to allow themselves bold actions and statements. But the nature of slavery cannot be changed, so when the «master» returned soon after, they forgot their boldness, principles and ambitions and quickly fell into line. This is exactly what the minions of the Putin regime are demonstrating today in all spheres, including the «Muslim clergy». Its representatives gathered in Vladikavkaz on March 16, 2022, and adopted a «fatwa» supporting the «preventive war» against Ukraine as a «jihad». We present the text of this blasphemy so that readers can familiarize themselves with it.

Among those in whose name this «fatwa» was issued are those whose position was not surprising because they have long had a tarnished reputation. These include, for example, Talgat_Giving Water and Kissing Icons_Tazhutdin and Albir_Two-Headed Eagle_Krganov. There is little demand for such people because no one expects them to have any Islamic knowledge or position.

But there are people who are perceived by many Muslims as carriers of Islamic knowledge and beliefs, such as the Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, the Mufti of Bashkortostan Aygur Birgaliyev, or the Mufti of North Ossetia Khadzhimurat Gatsalov, who know very well that many of their students and imams have been killed by Russian secret services.

So we know very well that either these people are reading us or those who are reading us are telling them. And we also know that they will most likely not respond to this appeal of ours.

However, out of respect for their past merits, we want to say to them — if you have been drawn into this venture and you realize that you have committed a sin, injustice, and most likely kufr, you have the opportunity in the near future to declare or make it clear to the Muslim Ummah that you do not support this «fatwa».

To those who do not do so in time (!), we want to say one thing — you cannot get off and change sides like you or your predecessors did when communism fell. Because this time the Chekist regime is behaving as aggressively as its predecessors did during the establishment of their regime under Lenin and Stalin, raising the stakes and putting the question squarely: either them or him.

Let us explain this to you using Ukraine as an example. What does the declared goal of «de-Nazification» of Ukraine mean? It is obvious to any reasonable person that in a country with a president of Jewish nationality and other politicians of various nationalities and religions in its leadership at all levels, there is no place for Nazism. Therefore, it is obvious that in the case of occupation of Ukraine, the goal is to expel from positions of power and all public structures those people who supported Ukrainian statehood independent of Russia. These people understand this very well, which is why they are fighting to the end. This includes Ukrainian Muslim activists who understand that they will have no place to live in an occupied Putin’s Russia.

So, dear servants and collaborators of the Putin regime who wear chalmas, we want you to understand that the same fate awaits you in case of its defeat. No one will repeat the mistakes of incomplete decommunization, and this time, after the overthrow of your master’s power, deputization awaits you, whether you like it or not.

An exception can only be made for those who manage to separate themselves from this regime, condemn it, and repent of their collaboration with it before it collapses. Be careful not to be too late.
