Russia is hit by a new wave of COVID. Advice for the faithful?

So Russia is hit by a new wave of coronavirus.

Official data are known — over 14,000 cases per day, of which nearly 8,000 are in Moscow. Now, according to these indicators, Russia has reached the 4th place in the world, behind India, Brazil and Colombia.

Any official data in Russia can be doubted. And you can certainly not accuse us of lack of trust in the Russian authorities, but the data from our acquaintances, among whom there are now again infected people, people on respirators and, unfortunately, deceased, also indicate that the pandemic is returning to Russia. And this is confirmed by information from our readers.

Now the authorities are trying to shift the responsibility for this to the people.

who do not want to be vaccinated when they have the opportunity. But, first of all, in the modern world it is an axiom that the responsibility for what happens in any country lies with the government. And in an authoritarian country, where that power is completely concentrated in the hands of its owners, where opposition is crushed, society is oppressed, and citizens are powerless, this is even more true. And if people do not want to be vaccinated, it means that they have not been convinced by the authorities, whose propaganda, which consumes hundreds of millions of budget rubles, proves to be effective in everything but solving tasks related to the real safety of the population.

Secondly, there are objective reasons why people do not want to be vaccinated specifically with «Sputnik». One does not need to look far, even the vaccination propagandists of «Sputnik» like Anton Krasovsky later tell how they got infected anyway. And there are many such cases of coronavirus infection after vaccination with «Sputnik», and people know about it. Not to mention the unclear health consequences of this vaccine.

Nevertheless, dear brothers and sisters, we also urge you to take the problem seriously.

We cannot take responsibility and urge Muslims living in Russia to be vaccinated specifically with «Sputnik» — each person should make such a decision for himself. If there is a possibility to get vaccinated with more reliable foreign vaccines, that’s good, although there are no absolutely safe vaccines that provide 100% protection.

But what we can definitely advise is for those who have relaxed to be more cautious. Avoid gatherings, physical contact with strangers, wear masks and gloves whenever possible. If symptoms of illness and deterioration of well-being appear, call doctors, get tested, and if the tests differ from how you feel, get a CT scan. In case of unfavorable data and symptoms, demand hospitalization — do not wait until it may be too late to help.

Remember that religious communities are in a special risk group.

And this is because of the completely wrong «reliance on Allah» without taking the necessary precautions, which is contrary to Islam. When Caliph Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, heard about an epidemic in a certain place, he decided not to go there, and when asked if he was running away from Allah’s predestination, he replied that he was running from Allah’s predestination to Allah’s predestination. And the hadith about the camel should be known by every Muslim who has a minimum of religious knowledge.

So do not suggest to yourself or your fellow believers that caution in these matters is «panic,» which indicates a lack of trust.

Our Lord is Wise, and the religion He has given us is also wise. Indeed, you cannot postpone the appointed death. But you may be questioned about how you have handled the gift of life entrusted to you — both your own and those who depend on you.

Take care of yourselves, and may Allah the Almighty protect you!
