«Navalny of Bashkortostan» received 9 years of strict regime?!

Literally at the same time as the German clinic «Charité», where he was taken, officially confirmed the poisoning of Alexei Navalny, the politician known as «Bashkir Navalny» — Airat Dilmukhametov, was sentenced by the military court of Samara to 9 years of strict regime imprisonment. In addition, Dilmukhametov was banned from administering websites for 3 years.

The military court of the Putin regime found Dilmukhametov guilty of inciting separatism (Article 280.1 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), financing extremist activities (Article 282.3 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), inciting such activities (Article 280 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and justifying terrorism (Article 205.2 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The latter charge was leveled against him for criticizing the draconian sentences imposed on members of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir party in Russia, despite the fact that Dilmukhametov had repeatedly stated, both before and during the trial, that he fundamentally disagreed with the ideology and goals of this party.

Despite his repeated statements that he does not advocate the separation of Bashkortostan from the Russian Federation, but rather the revival of true federalism, with the revived (4th) Bashkir Republic as its vanguard, Dilmukhametov was found guilty of separatism. As for financing extremism, Dilmukhametov was essentially found guilty of financing himself.

All this happened against the background of the victory of the Bashkortostan society in the struggle for the Kushtau reserve and seemed like a clear revenge against him. After all, it is Dilmukhametov who is the main herald of the ideas that effectively mobilized the people of Bashkortostan to fight for their rights and values against the lawlessness of the colonial authorities.

In this struggle for Kushtau, the patriots of Bashkortostan proved that they are capable of forcing the authorities to make concessions even where it seemed impossible. But if that’s the case, the next task for Bashkir society and its honor should be to fight for Dilmukhametov as determinedly as he fought for Kushtau.
