Lev Ponomarev, the head of the oldest human rights movement «For Human Rights», regularly advocates for persecuted Muslims and has appealed to the public for help.
Ponomarev explained that the authorities have imposed significant fines on the organization for refusing to register as a foreign agent, which is not the case and would limit its ability to operate in Russia.
The organization is appealing this decision in court, but if it is unable to pay the fines, which it cannot afford, it faces liquidation.
