Circular Bail — Has Neo-Stalinism Arrived?

Our regular readers are certainly aware of the case of the leader of the Bashkir opposition, Ayrat Dilmukhametov, who previously headed the «Nation of Islam» movement and was sentenced to 9 years in a strict regime colony simply for expressing his ideas — the revival of federalism in Russia and against repressions against Muslims (https://golosislama.com/news.php?id=39108).

We have already written about the case of Ilmira Bikbaeva, who donated money to Dilmukhametov’s elderly mother, a widow (her husband died during his previous imprisonment as a political prisoner), from whom they took not only her only son, but also her only breadwinner (https://golosislama.com/news.php?id=39627).

And now, today, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Ufa sentenced Bikbaeva to three years’ imprisonment. Let us repeat once again — not for donating to Dilmukhametov himself. Not for taking part in his organization. Not for spreading his ideas. But for helping his lonely mother. Yes, this time the sentence is suspended. And this is of course better than real imprisonment. But we must not deceive ourselves or relax under any circumstances.

It is still necessary to understand that this case has a huge resonance for the largest republic of the Russian Federation, which is Bashkortostan. And the accused was a respected woman of advanced age, and it would have been too much to imprison her. And the fact that this did not happen allowed many to breathe a sigh of relief.

And yet, a suspended sentence of imprisonment today means that tomorrow, in a similar case, it can be imposed unconditionally. This means that anyone, even without being involved in a banned organization or showing political solidarity with a prisoner of conscience, can be sentenced and thrown behind bars for providing humanitarian assistance to his family. And this already indicates that the atrocities of the ruling regime are reaching a new level.

One in which, as in Stalin’s time, «family members of the enemies of the people» appear and suffer in their civil rights, so that, as then, «the son is responsible for the father», the mother — as in this case — for the son, and so on. In other words, it can be said that the regime is already carrying out a vicious circle and a kind of blood revenge for the crimes (thought crimes!) against it.

And even though it is happening in such a soft form for now (!). In general, this does not change anything qualitatively — it only reveals the nature of this regime, and the further it goes, the more obvious it becomes. But it is precisely because of this that the last justifications for ignorance and illusions are disappearing, especially against the backdrop of the arrests of fathers or brothers of opposition politicians, or the seizure of children from families against whom criminal cases have been falsified, and sending them to orphanages to put pressure on their parents who have managed to escape reprisals.

And this means that there can be no half-measures or neutrality. Anyone who not only supports this regime, but also does not condemn it (if not out loud, then at least in his heart), becomes an accomplice to its atrocities. If that’s the case, then it is the duty of every believer and decent person to use every opportunity to inflict such damage on them that, as it accumulates, will lead to their end. One of the opportunities to do this will soon be available to the citizens of Russia. What exactly this is, God willing, we will discuss closer to this event.
