Does the Russian Orthodox Church continue to show its true face?

Not long ago we wrote about the appointment of a new «rocket bishop» — Lieutenant Colonel of the Strategic Rocket Forces Sergei Privalov — within the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Yesterday’s news about the appointment of Konstantin Malofeev as Deputy Chairman of the World Russian People’s Assembly (WRPA) should bring even more clarity about the direction in which this corporation is moving, along with Russia, which has been quietly hitched to this locomotive.

It should be noted that the WRPA is the socio-political wing of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, and it is the structure through which it is essentially trying to control the so-called «Russian world». Organizations of Russian political nationalists, such as the movements «Russkie» (Russians) and «Slavianskiy Soyuz» (Slavic Union), have usually ended with the imprisonment or emigration of their leaders and the complete control of the corresponding special services.

Unlike these organizations, the WRPA has become a project to exert full control over the entire Russian population, as the Russian Orthodox Church has long since become a state church. In 2014, this organization adopted the so-called Declaration of Russian Identity, which makes it clear to those who do not understand, such as the neo-pagans (Rodnovers) among the Russian nationalists, as well as Russian Muslims, Russian Protestants, and other «foreigners,» who is a «true Russian» and who is not. The statement explicitly states that «the assertion that every Russian should recognize Orthodox Christianity as the foundation of his national culture is justified and fair. The denial of this fact, and even the search for another religious basis for national culture, indicates a weakening of Russian identity, even to the point of its total loss».

The Yarovaya Laws, the fight against Russian Muslims, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Baptists — all these are steps towards the implementation of the Russian Orthodox Church’s project to gain full control over the Russian people and to eliminate any religious competition within it, including both Russian «heretics» and attempts to divide the «Orthodox Russian world», for example through the establishment of an autocephalous Orthodox Church in Ukraine.

On the contrary, among non-Russian peoples, projects such as Orthodox Tatars are actively supported, with the aim of undermining Tatar Islamic identity as part of state policy. Moreover, one of the ideologists, inspirers and instigators of the crusade against Islam in Russia is none other than Roman Silantyev, a functionary of the WRPA and the director of its «Human Rights Center».

On the basis of the above, Malofeev’s appointment as deputy chairman of the WRPA does not fundamentally change anything for Muslims, unless one attaches special importance to symbolism, since he is the owner of Tsargrad, as Istanbul is called by those who dream of its «reconquista» by the Orthodox. But this appointment undoubtedly speaks volumes to the rest of the world. After all, Konstantin Malofeyev is the person whose pocket financed the activities of militarized formations during the so-called «Russian Spring,» that is, the unleashing of «hybrid warfare» in southeastern Ukraine. Igor Strelkov, Alexei Borodai, and many «Cossack» formations, the «Russian Orthodox Army», etc. were all financed from his pocket (we do not say that it was done by him personally, since it is clear that he is only the guardian and manager of the entrusted money). He was added to the EU sanctions list along with other perpetrators of this bloody debauchery. In addition, he has come to the attention of the competent authorities and the media for financing European right-wing extremist movements that exploit the fight against «Islamization» — Marine Le Pen, the Austrian Freedom Party, and others.

In fact, it is perfectly logical and predictable that such a person should be appointed as the second in command in the main public organization of the Russian Orthodox Church and its «Russian World». They are the authors of this doctrine and embody it themselves, representing the spiritual message that the Russian Orthodox Church of Russia conveys to the world. This message is not a Christian preaching of love and compassion, but a threat to unleash a nuclear apocalypse.
