«There is no bottom» — this popular expression decided once again to illustrate their activities by Russian security forces in Dagestan, striving to keep Dagestani journalist and enlightener Abdulmumin Gadjiev behind bars by any means.
Having exhausted all the grounds for prolonging his detention within the framework of a fabricated criminal case against him, the security forces have brought new charges against him — participation in the activities of the recognized terrorist organizations «Congress of the Peoples of Ichkeria and Dagestan» and «Supreme Military Majlis of the United Forces of Mujahideen of the Caucasus» from 2009 to 2019.
According to the investigation, along with Gadzhiev, the well-known preacher Abu Umar Sazitlinsky (Israel Ahmednabiev) was also an Ichkerian activist and military commander at that time.
It is difficult to say what prompted such a choice of accusation — extreme degree of mental retardation or demonstrative cynicism and so-called trolling in their understanding of its utter absurdity.
After all, there could not have been a Congress of the Peoples of Ichkeria and Dagestan in 2009, since its creators had declared the liquidation of Ichkeria a year earlier and proclaimed the Imarat Kavkaz instead. Accordingly, for the same reason, there was no «United Forces of the Mujahideen of the Caucasus» in 2009, which was replaced by the structures of Imarat Kavkaz.
And now one has to wonder — what prevented them from accusing Gadzhiev and Ahmednabiev of being part of Imarat Kavkaz, also recognized as a terrorist organization, but at least one that actually existed at that time?
Could it be that the degree of mental and professional degradation of these falsifiers is so great that they no longer know who they were fighting against 10 years ago? Or are they deliberately mocking common sense to show that they can afford to make the most absurd accusations and keep people behind bars under their pretext?
But why should we be surprised when the indulgence for lawlessness comes from the very top?
For example, Vladimir Vasilyev, the Kremlin’s representative in Dagestan, who is mistakenly called the head of the republic, responded to a question from one of the deputies of the People’s Assembly as to why the murder of two shepherd brothers Gasangusenov by the security forces was not being investigated, as follows «You just mentioned the civilized world. I will tell you that in the United States, which considers itself a leader and sets the rules of the civilized world, on average more than 500 people are killed every year by police officers. There are no investigations, do you know that?»
The important thing here is not that Vasilyev is lying, because investigations into the killings of innocent victims are conducted not only in relation to police officers, but also in relation to U.S. military personnel operating outside the United States. In fact, such investigations regularly result in apologies, compensation, accountability, and so on.
The important thing here is that Vasilyev is trying to use this fake reference to justify the right of Russian security forces to kill innocent people with impunity — that is the real meaning of his statement.
Against this background, another event is perceived with no less cynicism — the awarding by the Dagestan Muftiate (DUMD) of the medal «Hero of the Ummah I» to this Moscow colonial representative.
In this case, however, we can agree with the Dagestan Muftiat. After all, Ummah means community, society, and it is not necessarily the Ummah of Muslims — one can talk about the Ummah of Christians, Jews, etc.
And perhaps Vasilyev really deserves the title of hero of his Kremlin ummah, first class, by performing an important task in a responsible field of work. We would suggest that the title of hero of this ummah should be awarded to such muftis, at least second class, since the first class is not deserved by the natives.
