Last fall, we reported on the untimely death of one of the leaders of the Muslim community in Sandzak and Serbia, former Mufti, leader of the Party of Truth and Reconciliation, and Deputy Speaker of Serbia, Muammar Zukorlic, and his lessons for modern Muslims.
And now, last week, an equally shocking news emerged — the body of the Mufti was exhumed and reburied on the territory of one of the Islamic complexes in Novi Pazar, Sandzak. But the shocking news did not end there, which is understandable, because actions such as reburial, which are not inherent in Islam, must have a reasonable explanation. And it turned out…
The son and successor of the Mufti, Osama Zukorlic, stated that the family had strong evidence that his father did not die of illness, but of poisoning. It is reported that the poisoning of the Mufti with a heavy metal-based poison was confirmed by two European laboratories on the basis of biomaterials submitted by the family for analysis. After that, the Serbian Prosecutor’s Office, upon the request of the family, decided to exhume the body for investigation purposes.
By the way, we suspected right after his death that the Mufti might have been murdered. In the article dedicated to this news, we wrote: «The figure of Zukorlic has acquired a special significance now, when the smell of Serbian-Bosnian war is once again in the air. Therefore, the fact that Zukorlic, who called for peace and stood strong, died on the eve of potentially fateful events, was perceived by some as a bad omen, while others doubted that this death could have been ‘unnatural’.»
The question of who could have killed Muammar Zukorlic is the question of questions. And there could be many possibilities — from his competitors in Sandzak and the war party in the Serbian special services to the special services of foreign states, Bosnia and Sandzak being the arena of their confrontation within the Serbian state.
But if we look at the latest version, the answer to the question «who benefits» will be quite obvious. After all, the initiative in the escalation within and around Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is accompanied by a new war, comes entirely from Milorad Dodik and the Serb hawks. And we know very well who is Dodik’s loyal ally. We also know in which country the poisoning of politically inconvenient people has become an assembly line process.
So perhaps the independent investigation of Zukorlic’s poisoning should involve not only the Serbian prosecutor’s office, which may have an interest in hiding the truth under such circumstances, but also Hristo Grozev, who exposed the poisoners of Navalny and other Kremlin enemies. Especially considering that shortly before Zukorlic’s death, various activists from Russia, clearly linked to their special services, visited him. With this in mind, it would be useful to compare the dates of their meetings and the subsequent fatal illness of the mufti.
