News of executions in Moscow and Ingushetia?

Weekdays of Putin’s Russia — if at the beginning of last week we wrote about the execution of his fellow soldiers by the Russian army soldier Ramil Shamsutdinov, then this week begins with the news of the execution of the head of the so-called Center for Combating Extremism (commonly known as «Estonia») in Ingushetia, Ibrahim Eldzharkiev, in Moscow. Unfortunately, his younger brother — Ahmed Eldzharkiev, a 30-year-old anesthesiologist at the 1st Gradskaya Hospital in Moscow, known for his excellent qualities, was killed with him.

Despite their completely different circumstances, the two shootings have something in common: the public reaction to them. Just as in the first case, almost no commentator had any doubts about why the conscript was able to shoot officers and «veteran» soldiers, so in this case almost no one had any questions about why the head of the Center for Combating Extremism could be killed.

It cannot be said that the Ingushetia Center for Countering Extremism stood out from other similar centers in the country in terms of torture and other lawlessness — it differed only in that these incidents became known to the general public and became rare precedents where those responsible were held accountable in court (source). Eldzharkiev took over the center after Timur Khamkhoev, who was later dismissed from his position and convicted for these crimes, but as MBK Media reminds us in its material on the Ingushetia Center for Countering Extremism, the situation did not improve under his leadership (source).

It is also worth noting that among the relatives and associates of the executed leader of the Batalkhadzhin Brotherhood, Ibrahim Belkharoev, the opinion has formed that it was Eldzharkiev who organized his murder. Therefore, the hunt for him began two weeks after the murder — Belkharoev was killed on December 31, 2018, and the first assassination attempt on Eldzharkiev took place on January 12, 2019, on the way from Chechnya to Ingushetia.

It should be added that today the main leaders of Ingush civil society are behind bars; they ended up there because of the protests they organized against the signing of an agreement by the puppet leadership of the republic, which provides for the alienation of land from the republic — without its discussion and approval by its citizens. Well, the organs at the forefront of the fight against dissent in modern Russia are well known. So one can only guess whose retaliation caught up with this guardian of Putin’s order in Ingushetia. But the obvious fact is that these days there were not many commentators sympathizing with him on social networks.
