Another speech by Putin to the Federal Assembly in the style of Ostap Bender about «New Vasyuki» with «thoughtful» faces was listened to attentively by the elite, carefully selected by him for the past two decades of rule.
For example, people like those on the photo above. Or people like these.
From this, one can draw an unequivocal conclusion about how all these loud statements and promises are perceived by those who are supposed to fulfill them.
And the statements and promises were indeed loud. About the need to fight poverty. To support childbirth. To improve the quality of health care.
Of course, there was also the usual rudeness towards the outside world, without normal relations with which all this is impossible — for example, in the form of remarks about «snorting» American allies, i.e. EU and NATO members.
But this is already a customary ritual, and the essence of the «national leader’s» message this time was clearly not about that. The essence of his message was a signal to the citizens — we have noticed your dissatisfaction in the form of record low support for Putin (33%, VTsIOM) and record high readiness to participate in protest actions (22%, Levada Center), according to the latest social surveys.
And we are ready for change. Or, as the popular song goes, «we will now live in a new way.»
And everything would be fine if it weren’t for one thing — this singer has been singing these songs for almost 20 years of his time in power, during which he had the opportunity to do everything for this, but almost nothing was done.
But much has been done and is being done to ensure that none of this can happen under the system he created and the ruling class he established.
This can be easily confirmed by looking at the expressions on the faces of those listening to him directly in the hall.
