One of the main motives for «Vata Muslims» to support Mordor’s war against Ukraine is that the West is fighting against Russia with its help. All right, let’s look at this aspect, but let’s look at it from a Muslim point of view instead of from a «Vata» point of view. How is the West worse than Russia for Muslims? Don’t talk about gay parades, because first of all, there is no country where the rape of male prisoners is a systemic state policy, not in Shvabrostan or the Russian Federation. And on the whole, it would be hard to find another country in the world that is so focused on homosexuality as Mordor, with its homo-maternal lexicon, constant reflections on «degenerates,» «cocks,» «shame,» and so on. Second, not all of the West is united on this issue, as there are both militantly liberal states or territories and much more conservative, religious, and family-oriented ones compared to Russia, where «traditional values» are primarily decorative. When we talk about politics, yes, there has been a considerable amount of injustice from the West towards the Islamic world. But how is Russia different, or has it ever been better?
In general, it should be understood that if we look at the West from the perspective of the crusades against the Islamic world, Russia has always been a part of it, even from the earliest times. Catholic popes and various orders supported Russian princes for this purpose, seeing them as agents of their policy in the East. For example, when Ivan III’s grandfather married Sophia Palaiologos, a Catholic from the Byzantine imperial family, it was organized by the Catholic Church. Although she later converted to Orthodoxy, her calculations turned out to be correct, because under her influence her husband engaged in conflicts with Tatar-Muslim khans. And his grandson Ivan the Terrible was later tried by all of Europe to be involved in a war against the Ottomans, but he was already involved in so many other wars that he had no time for it.
Nevertheless, starting with Ivan the Terrible, Russia did nothing but wage wars against Muslims. Conquest of Kazan, Astrakhan, and the Siberian Khanates. Then, under the Romanovs, the baptism of the conquered peoples and their subsequent expulsion from their lands. Wars with the Crimean Khanate until its destruction by Catherine II. By the way, as far as the West is concerned, it was Voltaire who actively incited Catherine II to war against the Muslims. Then, the genocide of Muslims in the northwestern Caucasus. Then the war in the Eastern Caucasus. Throughout the 19th century, there were wars with the Ottoman Caliphate, both in the Balkans and in the Caucasus. Then came the conquest and colonization of Turkestan. During the Soviet Union, there was a total struggle against Islam, including the genocidal deportation of many Muslim peoples. Towards the end of the USSR there was a war in Afghanistan. In the early days of «democratic Russia» there was a war in Chechnya. A total struggle against the Islamic factor in Putin’s Russia. Then the war against Muslims in Syria, the introduction of private military companies in Libya, and so on.
So, what has Russia not done against Islam and Muslims that the rest of the West has done?!
But it can be said that occasionally the West did something useful for Muslims, even if it was in their own interests, which Russia did not do. They supported healthy Muslim forces in many countries to fight against communism, including the jihad in Afghanistan, and in recent decades they have granted Muslims a freedom that Russia could not even dream of. By the way, Russian propaganda has actively used this against the West, playing on the Islamophobic sentiments of a part of its population, fomenting hatred against Muslims, and so on.
So, in principle, it is possible to understand those Muslims for whom the West is a red rag when it comes to what is happening in the Muslim world. But even in this case, each situation must be considered separately, because the aggression of the United States against Iraq was preceded by its invasion of Muslim Kuwait, or the extermination of Kurds, including Muslims, with chemical weapons, and so on. Nevertheless, such an attitude towards the West when it comes to what is happening in the Muslim world can be understood.
But there is not a single reasonable argument for a Muslim to prefer Russia to the West, which has all its negative aspects towards Islam and Muslims, but does not have its positive sides, be it the development of its society or at least the occasional coincidence of interests between the West and Muslims. In particular, whenever this happens — whether it is Muslim Bosnians, Albanians, Uighurs or Rohingya — the West, albeit for its own reasons, defends them against Russia and its allies such as China and Myanmar.
So enough, dear Muslims, of being outraged at the West for «insulting Mother Russia».
