Shoigu again ignores Muslims. Why is this?

Recently, the Russian Defense Minister and leader of the United Russia electoral list, Sergei Shoigu, who is often seen as a potential successor to Vladimir Putin, once again made derogatory remarks about the Muslim community in Russia. It’s worth noting that this is not the first time he has done this.

For example, another derogatory act was the construction and opening of the «Main Church of the Armed Forces» as a multi-confessional Orthodox church (a href=»https://golosislama.com/news.php?id=34970″). By doing so, he indirectly indicated to Muslims and other non-Slavic peoples, including his own Muslim heritage, their place in this country — or rather, how insignificant it is.

Another such act can be seen in his statements that the Russian army tested its weapons by bombing Syrian Muslims (a href=»https://golosislama.com/news.php?id=39811″). And now this self-proclaimed Christian has claimed to have had the «privilege» of working with the organizers of the genocide of Muslims in Bosnia, who were convicted by the Hague Tribunal: their political leader, Radovan Karadzic, the butcher of Srebrenica, Ratko Mladic, and the puppet master of all these ethnic cleansings, Slobodan Milosevic (a href=»https://youtu.be/MKB578_jPKU»).

Expressing moral outrage about this is completely useless. So let’s ask another question — why is this happening? And the answer has long been obvious — it’s because the opinions of millions of Muslim citizens in this country mean nothing. And why is that?

It is also necessary to understand this — because in this country there are no mechanisms for determining independent public opinion and its influence on power. If this were not the case, and if there were an independent society in this country, where power is formed through free and competitive elections, any federal minister would know that such actions and statements would lead to a scandal with the Muslim part of Russian society, resulting either in immediate resignation or loss of votes from Muslim voters.

We would just like to remind you how this works even in Israel, where, unlike Russia, there are no Muslim autonomies because Palestine is virtually isolated from it and its inhabitants do not influence Israeli politics (a href=»https://golosislama.com/news.php?id=39862″). It works because the formation of power involves the entire society, from extreme Zionists to moderate Islamists, and as a result, in order to obtain or maintain the necessary parliamentary majority, every statement and every step must be carefully considered.

However, we all know how power is formed in Putin’s Russia, and we are now witnessing it once again in the farcical preparations for the upcoming «elections» — against the backdrop of the destruction of opposition organizations and media, and the exclusion of independent candidates. Under such conditions, Muslims will certainly not be taken into account, unless power becomes dependent on the citizens who elect it, and Muslims are able to influence this process from the perspective of protecting their own interests.

For the time being we have these «tasty» realities. By the way, how many Russian citizens who identify themselves as Muslims will vote for «United Russia» in these elections, when their leader proudly associates himself with the organizers of the genocide of Muslims condemned by the world?
