The authorities in Penza did not stop at the purge of independent Islamic leaders and communities in the region, which was reported on our website. This was followed, as logic dictates in such processes, by an attack on Islam itself.
On the first day of Ramadan, which of course civilian Islamic scholars could not ignore, Muslims decided to «congratulate» each other on the holiday. As a gift, it was decided to begin the expulsion of hijabs from Penza schools. As reported by RIA «News», a total of 20 schools announced a ban on girls wearing head coverings. This was done on the instructions of the prosecutor’s office. The reason given was «combating extremist activities».
It should be noted that similar decisions were made earlier in the Stavropol region and the Republic of Mordovia. And each time, Muslims from other regions hoped that it was an exception to the rule. However, we would like to point out that the Penza Prosecutor’s Office in its directive refers to the fact that «the existing federal legislation establishes the principle of secular education and does not provide the opportunity for students to exercise their right to practice religion and act in accordance with their religious beliefs in state and municipal general education institutions».
In other words, this is a federal precedent from which the ban on the hijab in all schools in the country can effectively begin.
