In recent days, real street battles have broken out in the French city of Dijon between Chechen self-defense units and North African drug cartel gangs. The Chechens’ patience had been worn thin by the recent act of African racists who beat a Chechen teenager in Dijon and then threatened to do the same to any Chechen who got in their way. In response, Chechens from various cities in France gathered in Dijon and retaliated against targets (mostly places known to be associated with the African mafia). After most of the Chechens left Dijon, armed reinforcements from the drug cartels were brought in.
This part of the story is currently being discussed by many, but few are talking about its background. Specifically, African gangs have been terrorizing the Chechens for almost a month. The main reason for this is that, unlike the native French population, who tolerate the lawlessness of the African gangs and even the police, who do nothing against them, the Chechens refuse to accept their criminal dictates.
This is confirmed by the prefect of Dijon, Bernard Schmitz, who stated that the riots in the city «were not the result of actions by the Chechen community, but were provoked by the inhabitants of the city,» as he politically correctly refers to the African colonizers. Also telling is the mocking tweet of the French National Police Command to the African gangs, pointing out that they literally «soiled their pants» when they encountered Chechens who came to Dijon, but then felt like heroes again when the Chechens left (https://twitter.com/PoliceSynergie/status/1272571642502426624). So it is clear where the sympathies of the local French authorities and the French police lie in this case.
But this story has an aspect that is no less important for Muslims. When the African gangs brought their armed groups with automatic weapons to Dijon, after the majority of the Chechens had left, they began to shout «Putin, Putin», knowing that this name is like a red rag to a bull for the Chechens. At the same time, during these clashes, the Chechens shouted «Allahu Akbar».
By the way, although this may seem like an accidental coincidence, some commentators do not rule out the possibility that the African drug mafia has close ties with the intelligence services of a «major drug power» that smuggles tons of cocaine around the world under the cover of its diplomatic mission and is linked to drug cartels in pro-communist Latin American countries. Thus, in this case, both criminal and political interests may have coincided, given the efforts of the Russian intelligence service, the FSB, to neutralize the Chechen diaspora in Europe.
In such a situation, responsible leaders of European Chechens are now urging their compatriots not to fall for provocations, the aim of which may be to portray Chechens as a dangerous and destructive element for Europe, as has been done in several countries with the participation of pro-Moscow politicians and media.
