The investigation by the Arabic-language BBC News, which revealed serious facts about Roman Abramovich’s financial dispositions, caused a scandal in Britain, where he spends his money, but not in Russia, from where he takes it.
It was found that four companies owned by Abramovich and registered in the Virgin Islands donated over $100 million (£74 million) to the fascist Jewish organization Elad, which seeks to expel Palestinians from Israel and the occupied territories and populate this «living space» with Jewish settlers.
Thus, Abramovich, who received Israeli citizenship in 2018, became the largest recent sponsor of forces with an odious reputation in the West, causing a corresponding scandal. After all, the overwhelming majority of Western countries do not recognize the so-called Jewish settlements as legal, and even the Trump administration, considered the most pro-Zionist, opposes the creation of new settlements and demands that the Netanyahu government rein in extremists like the Elad organization.
And all of this is done at the expense of the wealth of the Russian people, which Abramovich appropriates from the land from which he extracts the oil that brings him fabulous wealth. With these funds he can not only buy football clubs and yachts in Britain, but also finance the expulsion and murder of Palestinian Muslims by Jewish extremists.
It is important to remember this in the context of something else. Last year it became known from several informed sources about Roman Abramovich’s visit to Tatarstan, the formal reason for which was his possible purchase of the football club «Rubin». However, a number of business experts noted at the time that the possibility of acquiring Rubin was clearly used as a pretext to hide the real purpose of Abramovich’s visit — negotiations on the purchase of Tatneft or a stake in it.
Such deals are rarely concluded quickly and are sometimes discussed for years. But it must be clearly understood that now, when it has become known that Abramovich is a sponsor of anti-Muslim extremists, any sale of strategic assets to him in the Muslim republic and without the consent of its leadership would be a clear insult to Muslims in Tatarstan and the rest of Russia.
