Since the Soviet people can only understand analogies based on the «holy» war of 1941-1945, let us start with it to address this issue.
Let’s imagine that in 1941 or 1942 German troops were advancing through the territory of the USSR, conquering and destroying Soviet cities. In the convoy of an SS unit are German officials, some of whom are distributing humanitarian aid to civilians on behalf of the Henry Himmler Charitable Foundation, while others are reporting on the events, pretending to be the press. Would the Soviet people regard these people as benefactors and journalists, or would they regard them as collaborators with the occupiers? The answer to this question is obvious — they would be considered collaborators of the occupiers, part of Hitler’s occupying army.
Similarly, from now on and for life, the «Muslim activists» of Russia, who came to Mariupol as part of the Kadyrov group, under the patronage of Kadyrov’s Minister of Information and Press Ahmed Dudayev, will be perceived. Some came under the guise of the press, others came as volunteers of the Ahmad Kadyrov Foundation.
Let’s explain it in more detail — the world perceives the situation in Ukraine as a war, or rather as an aggression of Putin’s Russia against the internationally recognized state of Ukraine, to which Mariupol belongs. Therefore, anyone who wants to be seen by the world as a journalist or philanthropist on Ukrainian territory must obtain the appropriate permission from the Ukrainian government. Those who come to Ukrainian territory without such permission, especially in the company of invaders and occupiers, become part of them. No alternatives.
This is how the «journalist» and «Muslim blogger» Rasul Tavdiryakov and the unknown team of «heroes», of whom we have identified only five, led by the President of the European Muslim Forum, Abdul-Vakhed Niyazov (Vadim Medvedev), would be perceived now. The latter, until recently, tried to network his EMF Muslims in different European countries. Although it has long been known that his project is financed by Kadyrov and propagates the «legacy of Ahmad Kadyrov», especially in the Balkans, due to the liberal policies of European authorities, he managed to avoid sanctions as a direct agent of Russian influence.
The beginning of the war against Ukraine became a turning point in many respects. It seemed that Niyazov, as an intelligent person, in order to preserve his project, would try to distance himself from those who were actively participating in the aggression against Ukraine. At least, his statements in the first days of the war indicated that he supported peace and so on. In fact, many representatives of Putin’s clique began to distance themselves from him at that moment. So why couldn’t Niyazov do the same? Perhaps he would have gained a reputation as a Muslim dissident.
But Niyazov made a different choice — to become a direct participant in the aggression against the largest European state. This is a reason to close down his EMF project. If, of course, we understand «Europe», to which his activities extend, as beginning (so far) in Grozny and ending (so far) in Mariupol.
In principle, it is not surprising that he made this choice — it is clear that without Kadyrov’s funding this project could have been closed, as many of Niyazov’s projects were closed when their funding ended. But by distancing himself from the aggressors and closing one of his projects, Niyazov could have preserved his reputation as a «project» himself. After all, he is a wealthy person and could make a living somewhere in Turkey, so he could have turned EMF over to its sponsors and resigned.
But Niyazov, like Tavdiryakov, made a different choice. What motivated them is no longer worth discussing, nor is it worth arguing with the justifications they will give themselves. They are now accomplices of the Russian aggressors and occupiers in the eyes of the world, and those who do not want to find themselves on such lists should stay away from them.
