«And truth came and falsehood disappeared. Verily, the falsehood is destined for destruction,» says the Qur’an (translated meaning, Surah Al-Isra, verse 81).
From this we can see that the affirmation of truth and the disappearance of falsehood go hand in hand. However, this is understood not only by the followers of the truth, but also by those who seek to spread falsehood and eliminate the truth.
This is exactly what is happening in Dagestan, on the one hand, by introducing monstrous falsifications of Caucasian and Muslim history, and on the other hand, by silencing its experts and preventing the spread of true knowledge about it.
One of such outrageous falsifications is the film «Amanat», the message of which implies the futility of resistance against Russian invaders for the Caucasians during the Caucasian War and the advantage of accepting Russian authority for them. All this is heavily embellished with romantic clichés and accompanied by a tasteless directing style, which is common to almost all silly Russian historical films of the new generation.
The lack of historical accuracy in this cliché has been thoroughly analyzed by Patimat Takhnaeva, a candidate of historical sciences, senior research fellow, head of the Caucasus Department at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The link to her article is below.
In other words, the film «Amanat» is a lie, a lie and again a lie. And that is why it is crucial for those who promote it to eliminate the truth and its connoisseurs, so that people do not understand that they are being fed a lie.
This is exactly why one of the best experts on Dagestani history, Dr. Khaji-Murad Donogo, was attacked. Dr. Donogo was dismissed from his position as deputy director of the National Museum of Dagestan at the request of the «Association of Special Forces Veterans,» in other words, the Russian oprichniks, who accused the scholar of propagating nationalism and separatism.
Put simply, he was accused of justifying the classical view of the Caucasian War as a national liberation struggle of the Caucasians, rather than the «meaningless» narrative now being imposed.
What is particularly striking is that these oprichniks are not even local, not even Dagestani like Sergei Melikov, but outsiders, at least formally. The «association» is based in Stavropol, and its director, Stepan Lyubenko, is from Belgorod. What connection do they have with Dagestan? None.
And yet, on the basis of their denunciations and demands, one of the best Dagestani scientists is dismissed. In fact, such a scenario was unthinkable even in Soviet times. Perhaps only during Stalin’s era, which has now fully entered Putin’s Russia.
Normally, in order to dismiss a renowned scientist of the republic, they would first orchestrate a devastating article against him by local scientists, at worst by Moscow scientists, but also by scientists. But to dismiss a scientist on the basis of the cry of some retired garbage is beyond all limits. Just like the lack of outrage in the local scientific community about it.
Well, as they say, the night is always darkest before the dawn. And it will come, and then the believers will utter the words of Allah: «And the truth came and the falsehood disappeared. Surely the falsehood is destined for destruction.
The only question is, who will He choose to carry out this mission, and who will be rewarded for it, and who, on the contrary, will be blamed for their inaction and lack of courage?
