Did the government that banned the hijab fall in Ramadan?

Two weeks ago, when Voice of Islam wrote about the direct connection between the Penza prosecutor’s ban on hijab in city schools and a similar initiative that gained momentum in the Austrian parliament on the same day, our critics considered it a propaganda exaggeration.

However, the past few days have shown that the reason for the collapse of the ruling coalition in Austria, which initiated the ban on hijab in primary schools, was exactly what we wrote about — the «Russian trace» in the activities of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPO).

The country was shaken by the publication of a video recording of a confidential meeting in a villa in Ibiza, where the leader of this party, Heinz-Christian Strache, with the mediation of his accomplice Johann Gudenus, offered to a supposed relative of a Russian oligarch to buy one of the largest Austrian media, the Kronen Zeitung, as a first step to subordinate its information space.

In addition, as vice chancellor of Austria and vice mayor of Vienna, they promise the Russian oligarch state contracts in exchange for funding their party. Both Strache and Gudenus have never hidden their sympathies for and connections to the Putin regime. While Strache met with Vladimir Putin himself (in the photo above), Gudenus was photographed with Ramzan Kadyrov.

However, it is one thing — public contacts and statements, another thing — behind-the-scenes agreements aimed at reshaping the entire information space of the country, as well as its economy, considering that the Vice-Chancellor of Austria proposed to grant state preferences to his Russian sponsors at the expense of Austrian companies.

What is particularly piquant is that this is the leader of the country’s main nationalist party, which presents itself as the defender of its national interests, which are being sacrificed by liberals and leftists.

According to Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who announced early elections after the collapse of his OVP (Austrian People’s Party) coalition with the Freedom Party and accepted Strache’s resignation the day before, the reason for his decisions was the demonstrated «attitude towards the abuse of power, the use of taxpayers’ money and the mass media in our country» shown in this video.

However, it is possible that Kurz is lying. For example, already published fragments of the video contain Strache’s revelations, where he talks about the fact that the decent family man Kurz regularly holds amphetamine-fueled gay parties.

In general, it must be said that, according to the journalists who published this «leak» and circles close to them, we are talking about a 6-hour video that contains many such revelations about the drug and sexual leisure activities of members of the ruling coalition, as well as capturing the immoral behavior of the married Strache in the presence of other women.

However, to be fair, Strache himself, who has already resigned as vice-chancellor and leader of the FPO, denies this and is now demanding the publication of the entire video.

And the funniest part of this story is that in this case there was no Russian oligarch to whom these fervent defenders of Austria’s national interests jointly offered to subjugate the media and the market of their country. Strache and Gudenus were «played» in a classic way, and having fallen for the bait in the form of an alleged relative of a Russian oligarch, they revealed their revelations to the whole world, which revealed huge problems not only with their political and personal ethics, but also with their elementary intelligence.

After all, they did not check the interlocutor beforehand and did not care about the information security of the meeting, which took place in a room full of hidden cameras, not to mention the fact that politicians of their level, already in power in the country, were not obliged to hold such meetings themselves.

What happened became not only a political earthquake for Austria, but also a moral disaster for the so-called «right wing» throughout Europe, on the eve of important elections to the European Parliament.

It turns out that the leaders of one of the most successful and respected parties among them trample on all the moral and political principles for which they fight in words: conservative, Christian, family-oriented and patriotic.

Once again, it should be noted that all this happened just a few days after the Kurz-Strache ruling coalition, choosing the month of Ramadan for this purpose, passed a law prohibiting Muslim girls from wearing the hijab in the country’s primary schools.

Isn’t this the best illustration of the fact that there is no barrier between Allah and the prayer of the oppressed?
