Now, when the Ukrainian troops are courageously pressing and destroying the occupiers, it is right to remember yesterday’s date — the anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (CRI). The connection between these events today is obvious. It is precisely the military victory of Ukraine that triggers the destruction of the Kremlin empire (a term coined by the Chechen historian Abdurakhman Avtorhanov) and thus makes possible the restoration of Ichkeria’s independence and statehood. But let us refrain from ritual congratulations. Let us postpone them to the time when it will be possible to congratulate the Chechens on the fact that they have their own state and their independence and security are not threatened. For now, let us follow the prophetic hadith that «religion is advice» to fulfill our Islamic duty to our brothers and share with them our common reflections on the current situation and prospects.
Aware of the approaching fateful changes, many Ichkerian patriots are now becoming more active. Representations are being opened in other countries, preparations are being made for a national congress, battalions of the future armed forces of the CRI are being formed, and the question of its international recognition is becoming more insistent. All this can only be welcomed and we wish them success. After all, if the Kremlin empire collapses, it is the Chechens who have the best chances of rebuilding their statehood on its ruins. This is due to the fact that there are still people who remember this statehood and remain loyal to it, and because Chechnya, which has an externally homogeneous national and religious border, is held in Russia only by brute force. Therefore, even those Russian opposition politicians who are against the disintegration of Russia have, with rare exceptions, morally reconciled themselves to the future separation of Chechnya.
Unfortunately, in addition to the confrontation between the supporters of independence and Ramzan Kadyrov, we see discouraging processes of confrontation even among the patriots of the CRI. And here we would like to say that we do not want to interfere in the internal Chechen processes in any way, but we cannot but warn about the dangers we see.
Brothers, your chances of restoring the statehood and independence of Ichkeria in the next turn of history are great. But on one condition — the internal consolidation of the Chechen nation, at least of the camp of its supporters of state independence, the patriots of Ichkeria. But if instead of that, at the most crucial moment, they split into opposing groups and instead of being united, they turn against each other, the long-awaited chance may be missed and Chechnya may be torn apart in a civil war.
Of course, someone will say, «Well, now we are fighting, but if necessary we will unite and act together. Insha’Allah, Insha’Allah.» But there is a high probability that it will be too late to resolve disagreements later. Therefore, for the sake of Allah, we call on all sides of the internal Chechen disputes and disagreements to start the path of reconciliation and political consolidation now. So that on September 6th we can congratulate you on what you have and not on what once was.
