Is «faith in God» nullified?

Thus, the Kirovsky District Court of Omsk in Putin’s Russia has ruled that a religious girl does not have the right to observe the requirements of her religion within the walls of an educational institution that requires her to uncover her hair (remove her headscarf).

We are talking about Alina Navruzova (pictured), a student at Omsk Medical University, whose case we wrote about recently. Despite the involvement of well-known Muslim lawyers and even muftis in the case, it was revealed today that the court has decided to deny the girl the defense of her right to practice her religion.

The full text of the decision is not yet available, but we would like to remind you that during the trial, Alina and her representatives were asked to provide evidence that, firstly, she is indeed a practicing Muslim and, secondly, that Islam requires its mature female followers to cover themselves.

Therefore, this court decision apparently means that either the court did not consider Alina to be a true Muslim, or it believed that Islam does not require adult Muslim women to cover themselves. But whether this is true or not will be known when the text of the decision is published.

Well, on a serious note, as we originally wrote, this whole case, which arose during the campaign for Putin’s constitutional amendments, clearly showed the value of one of them — the provision on «belief in God» as a value handed down from the ancestors. For those who made these amendments, either genuine faith in God, which even according to Christian doctrine is «dead without works,» is worth nothing, or they simply believe in their own God, not the One who sent the Scriptures and the Prophets (peace be upon them) as guidance for believers.
