The news of the day that the Voice of Islam team cannot ignore is the statement by Ibrahim Karagül regarding his resignation as editor-in-chief of the Turkish publication Yeni Şafak («New Dawn»). This media outlet is owned by the Albayrak Holding media conglomerate, which is integrated into Turkey’s ruling circles and unofficially expresses its views on domestic and foreign policy issues without diplomatic protocol. Ibrahim Karagül himself was, without exaggeration, the mouthpiece of this publication, whose bright, stimulating and sometimes provocative publications, in the best sense of the word, were eagerly awaited by readers around the world. «Voice of Islam» has often presented the meaning of Ibrahim Karagül’s articles to Russian-speaking readers, quoted from them, and used his publications in our analysis. In particular, this summer we informed our readers about his warning article addressed to Armenia, in which he wrote that this country is using the global anti-Turkish coalition in its provocations against Turkey and that it will end badly for them (https://golosislama.com/news.php?id=38988). Only a few months later, this prediction came true. Now we hope that Ibrahim Karagül’s other prediction, which we will present below, will also come true.
As for the reasons for his resignation, he did not give them, but emphasized in his statement that he considers Yeni Safak his family, will continue to write for them, and wishes them success, thanking his colleagues and the newspaper’s management for their years of cooperation. From our side, we hope that his wishes will be fulfilled for his beloved newspaper and that he will be able to realize his potential in a no less worthy and important position. In the Russian-speaking area, «Voice of Islam» has long been the voice of critical realism for the Muslim Ummah, pointing out possible risks and problems in the implementation of various Islamic projects, whether they are partisan or large-scale geopolitical. In this context, Ibrahim Karagül and Yeni Şafak, with their unwavering optimism, are needed to fulfill an equally important task — to inspire Muslims, and we wish them and ourselves that. This century will be the century of Turkey’s rise. Despite all global calculations, Turkey will stand out as the «central state of the region». Anatolia is the homeland of political rise. Like its rise after the Crusades, Turkey will be the place of the Third Great Renaissance after the Third Great Shock. Now Turkey represents our whole region. Although it has become an arena of confrontation for the world powers, Turkey has changed all these plans. We have a reality that goes beyond political parties and groups with personal interests.
