Did 5 Turkish generals not survive the shame in Idlib?!

As the latest news from Turkey shows, the failure of its leadership in Idlib has dealt a blow to its authority not only among its supporters in the Islamic world, but also in influential circles within the country itself. In particular, within military circles, which is not surprising since the capture of strategic areas in Idlib province by regime forces, despite protests from Ankara, was accompanied by a demonstrative humiliation of Turkish soldiers stationed there, who not only faced blockades but also came under fire from the Assad regime.

According to Haberi T24, which has been widely circulated by many media outlets, 5 Turkish generals have resigned from the army following the recent events. These generals were in charge of operations in the Turkish-Syrian border region, including Idlib: Major General Ahmet Erdoğan Çorbacı, Brigadier General Recep Özdemir, Brigadier General Faruk Bozdemir, Brigadier General Uğur Akarbay and Brigadier General Sahlam Ertuğrul.

It should be noted that such a move by the generals, who obviously value their military honor and the honor of their nation, is completely understandable considering that the Turkish troops in Idlib not only failed to fulfill their obligations to their allies but also found themselves in a miserable and helpless state. The humiliation they faced was further aggravated by statements made by representatives of the Assad regime, such as Busaina Shabbabah, who declared that the regime is ready to destroy all Turkish observation posts in Idlib if Turkish soldiers interfere in its capture.

In response to such a blatant display of arrogance, the Turkish leadership has only resorted to loud statements directed at Damascus and appeals to the Kremlin to restrain its protégés, the results of which have not yet been reported. It is not surprising that in such a situation officers who expect a different attitude towards their army and their country, including from their leadership, could no longer continue their service…
